Course Description: This three-day, 100% hands-on course provides a basic understanding of the fundamental press components and operations involved in flexographic printing. Working on a narrow-web press, students will learn how to properly set up and run print jobs.
This class is targeted for non-operators looking for a better understanding of how print components and variables impact the final print results.
Day 1 –Set up a 3 Color Job (1 for each student + instructor)
Web tensions and web guide setup
Plate mounting and tape selection
Anilox roll section
Water-based ink maintenance
Ink up procedures
See hands-on how: kiss impression, changing anilox rolls and mounting tape impact the print results
Day 2 – Process Control
Optimize the press – Press runs to determine the best set of variables for design requirements.
Set up and clean up the press for a fingerprint using 4 color process inks.
Measure and identify target densities and hue angles for future press runs
Measure dot gain and create dot gain curves for future press runs
Day 3 – 4CP– Run to the #
Students set up and run a 4 color process job. The students run to the numbers. Using the data collected from the fingerprint to assure repeatability.
**THE FLEXOGRAPHIC TECH MEMBERSHIP FEE IS $3,000 PER YEAR. YOU MUST BE A MEMBER TO ENROLL STUDENTS INTO THE 12-WEEK AND 4-WEEK COURSES. ANY SPONSOR WHO DONATES MORE THAN $3,000 IS ALSO CONSIDERED A MEMBER.

Payments due date:
12 week class –35% ($2,800) none refundable down payment due 7 days after registration. $5,200 (remaining balance) due 60 days prior to start of class or seat is forfeited.
Flexo 101 - 100% tuition payment due at time of enrollment (registration) to reserve your seat. (Your spot in the class will not be reserved until payment is received)
Cancellations must be made 30 days prior to the first day of class to be eligible for a refund. The company that sponsored them can fill that slot with another candidate. There are no refunds 30 days before the first day of class.
